Eddie Murphy to Host the Academy awards?

So how exactly does "Eddie Murphy, Oscar host," seem? Based on Deadline, Academy awards-producer Brett Ratner wants the comedian, who co-stars in the approaching fim 'Tower Heist,' to host the 84th Oscars. Ratner must obtain the okay from the Academy first, but Eddie is apparently "showing interest" within the gig. Murphy was nominated for the best Supporting Actor for his role in 2006's 'Dreamgirls.' Once we remember it, he wasn't the finest sport about losing to Alan Arkin for 'Little Miss Sunshine,' but we are speculating he'd make an infinitely more passionate host. "Nobody knows movies better or perhaps is a larger cinephile than Eddie. Not Brett. Not really Quentin Tarantino. Eddie can quote moments from each and every movie sentence after sentence,Inch Deadline quotes an insider. "He is able to bring everything experience to hosting. Plus he's 'Saturday Evening Live' experience before an active crowd. And worldwide the greatest crossover comics are Will Cruz and Eddie Murphy." How about Billy Very, who's introduced he'd like to host again? He'd allegedly be incorporated within the show, simply not because the host. The famous host oprah Winfrey, who had been formerly rumored to host, is going to be there, but because the person receiving an honorary Oscar, as will James Earl Johnson. What is your opinion? Would Eddie create a great Oscar host? [via Deadline]
